Renée Rienties

Renée Rienties (1993) is a Dutch comic artist and illustrator known for her distinctive style, blending influences from Japanese manga and American comics. A graduate of Cibap in Zwolle, she has built an impressive career in illustration, storytelling, and editorial work.

Renée's Story

Renée has contributed to various projects, including the popular children's book series Snelle Sam (2020–2022) by Olav Mol and the best-selling comic series Camille, published by Standaard Uitgeverij. She is also the creator, editor, and artist behind several anthology series, including Oyasumi (2017), Ripple (2022), Figments of Passion (2023), and Gods Untold (2024).

Her talent has led to collaborations with renowned companies such as Ziggo Sport, Warner Music, and Wacom, where she has provided illustrations and promotional artwork. Beyond her personal projects, Renée plays an active role in the art community as a manga coordinator and curator for The Big Draw Nederland, part of their  international art and education initiative spanning the Netherlands, Japan, and South Korea.

In 2022, she was one of six illustrators for The Big Draw's Ripple Project, where artists were challenged to create a short story within 24 hours while locked inside the historic Besiendershuis in Nijmegen.

Her work reflects a passion for storytelling and a commitment to engaging audiences through visual art. Renée Rienties continues to make a significant impact in the world of comics and illustration.
